2015 Hall of Fame Inductee – Melva J. Michaelian
Melva J. Michaelian was inducted into The Herald Hall of Fame on May 14, 2015 by Herald advisor Joe Courchesne and former students Angela Sweeney, Shaylyn Fitzell-Stevens, Jimi Padden, and Jon Dougherty.
Mrs. Michaelian was inducted for her many years as Herald advisor and dedicated Holyoke High teacher.
Mrs. Michaelian was Herald advisor from 1989 until she retired in 2005. Her teaching has positively impacted many generations of Holyoke students, including many members of the current HHS staff. After retiring, she taught at UMass, Elms, and Springfield College and published several books.
