For all intents and purposes, Holyoke’s playoff season begins tonight when they face the Chicopee Comp Colts (3 – 4) at home at 7 pm.

Both the Knights (4-3) and the Colts need a win to make it to the playoffs. So the vibe at Roberts Sports Complex should be intense.

The Knights are coming off a tough loss against Westfield last week while the Colts won last week against Agawam.

Offensively the Knights aim to get their running game back, said Jake Swinehart, wide receiver, ‘20.
“We have what it takes, we just need to execute” he said.

Defensively, Coach Mark Lubold said, “I expect to see 11 hats to the ball on every play, period.”

The Knights defense is looking to regain their footing after a poor performance at Westfield, said senior captain Joe Dumoulin. “That (Westfield) game was not who we are. We took ourselves out. This week you will see a true Knights defense. we are ready,” he said.

Tonight the Knights will also celebrate their seniors at 5:30 pm.ahead of the game.

If you can’t make it to the game at Holyoke High School, make sure to follow The Herald’s sports Twitter page @hhsheraldsports for game updates. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
