Holiday Movie Review: The Polar Express
As you all know, everyone’s favorite time of the year is upon us. It’s time to put up the tree, decorate the house, and prepare for the most festive time of year, Christmas.
With all this cold icy weather out, all you really want to do is cuddle up under the blankets, eat munchies, and watch Christmas movies all day. The problem is, you don’t really know what movies to watch because you don’t want to waste your time watching something, just to find out midway through the movie that you don’t like it or find it amusing. If you’re reading this you have come to the right place because I am going to tell you about my all time favorite holiday movie.
It has been my favorite Christmas movie for as long as I can remember: The Polar Express. It is an amazing movie to watch when you get the holiday feels. The movie is about a young boy who is wrestling the doubts of the question many of us had as a kid: Is Santa Claus real? Then, the night of Christmas Eve, as he lays in bed, he hears a familiar sound of what seems to be a train. Little does he know, this train will be the answer to all of his questions. A conductor invites him aboard to take an extraordinary adventure. Although he’s hesitant, the young boy joins the train with many other kids, waiting to arrive to what seems to be the North Pole. During this trip, the young boy stumbles upon many situations of self-discovery, which allow him to acknowledge that Christmas spirit never fades for those who truly believe.
The Polar express brings joy to my heart. It gives me three times more Christmas spirit than I had before I started watching the movie. This movie leaves you wondering that maybe, just maybe Santa Claus could actually exist.
