The Herald

Our Story/Contact

The Herald is Holyoke High’s student run and student created newspaper. The Herald is the longest running publication in the city of Holyoke, established in 1898.  The Herald aims to inform both Holyoke High School and the local community of news, events, and happenings surrounding Holyoke High School and its students.

The Herald holds itself to the highest standards of journalism. Students will learn the essentials of journalistic integrity: fact checking, impartiality, and fairness in writing.

The Herald strives for a high level of competency in writing with regards to spelling, grammar, style, and clarity.

The Herald welcomes freelance submissions from all members of the community. We encourage community members to give their input on posted articles as a forum for debate. Names will be withheld upon request.

The Herald reserves the right to edit comments, letters, and freelance submissions prior to publication. All opinion pieces are the opinions of The Herald staff and do not represent the official position of Holyoke High School.
