Back in 2016, Danielle Bregoli, also known as Bhad Bhabie or “catch me outside girl” and her mother went on the Dr. Phil show and were interviewed looking for advice from Philip McGraw, the host of the show. Dr. Phil is a talk show where Philip McGraw brings up guests for psychological observations. McGraw started his career as an expert on human behavior on  Oprah Winfrey’s daily talk show and now continues to address real problems on his talk show in a very straightforward manner. Recently, Danielle has spoken out about what truly happened to her after the show.

In her interview, Danielle Bregoli was shown as an outrageous thirteen-year-old girl who disobeyed her other and did all sorts of mischievous things. Danielle’s mother was looking for help with her daughter because she felt that it had reached a point where she could not handle the situation herself anymore. There are multiple scenes of Bregoli being disrespectful to Philip McGraw and her mother. At the end of the interview, Dr. Phil decides to send her to Turn-About Ranch, which according to their website (turnaboutranch.com)  is, “…a year-round school that accepts students ages 13-17 who are struggling with a range of emotional and behavioral issues, including (but not limited to) depression, ADD/ADHD, substance abuse/addiction, defiance, rebellion, low self-esteem, and poor academic performance.” This facility was supposed to help Danielle and various other students who were sent there for similar reasons to break away from their troubled past and be able to return to a normal respectful life.

In a YouTube video titled, “Bhad Bhabie – Breaking Code Silence – Turn-About Ranch abuse Dr.Phil,” Danielle speaks on all the occurrences she experiences in Turn-About Ranch. She starts off the video by stating that she feels obligated to speak out about what happened after another former student spoke out with sexual assault allegations towards a staff member in the facility. She says there is no evidence about anything that happens inside because they have no phones or cameras. Danielle explained that for the first three days that someone is taken to the ranch there is no showering and they have to sit in an open teepee for three days without falling asleep or laying down.  Bregoli stated in the video, “They strip you of your whole personality. You have to act like just whoever they want you to act like.” She also makes it clear that Turn-About Ranch was all about taking away privileges, but she felt as though they went too far by taking away the privilege to sleep on a bed, eat nourishing food, and staying warm. Staff also seemed to act impulsively and punish kids because they felt angry. The staff at the facility had no problem “holding kids down” according to Danielle which she states is against the law because staff members were not legally allowed to touch the children in the ranch. Danielle also had a traumatizing experience where a student in the ranch murdered a staff member and she heard all of the commotions through the staff members’ radios.

Ultimately, Turn-About Ranch, according to Danielle Bregoli, is a very corrupt and abusive place to send children to. Bregoli called out Dr. Phil and asked him to issue an apology. In an interview where Danielle’s incident and video were brought up, the only thing Philip McGraw had to say was that once he sends the children to the facility, he gets no information about how they are doing or what goes on. Despite all the allegations and stories that immersed on the internet exposing Turn-About Ranch and other places just like it, Dr. Phil still sends children there in his Talk Show. These facilities seem to be causing more harm to students than good. Philip McGraw is now a rising topic among many people who wonder if he knows what is happening in the facilities he sends kids to and why he keeps sending people there.
