Exciting news for fans of theater! The cast of “Miss Nelson is Missing” is out now. The play will be taking place at Holyoke High through November 13-16. We had the honor to be able to interview one of the Holyoke High Theatre company students, Darius Baez.
Cast members include; Kaylie Lopez as Miss Nelson, Fynn Maldonado as Miss Swamp, Jasiel Abreu Molina as Principal Humleker, Eben Beaudry as Detective McSmogg, Darius Baez as Raymond, Jaslyanna Dasilva as Phoebe, Talitha Hernandez as George, Nevaeh Dasvila as Lavita, Ivan Rivera Morris/Mouse, Aidan Fonantez-Courchesne as Elvis, Danaliz Davila as Kimberly. With Bevan Brunelle as Director.
When asked what the play about, Darius said “It is about these rowdy kids who drove the teacher absolutely mad and she essentially goes missing and acts as is she’s a new teacher and scares the kids into acting right” To Darius, the most exciting thing about the play is the team work being put into it, and how everyone can come together and make a great play together.
To prepare for this play Darius has said “Drilling lines a lot, a lot of drilling getting the lines in our brain”, and what this means is that they will be going over their lines at rehearsal till the first day of the show.
The hardest part about this play coming together is going to be the set for the show. This will be the hardest part of the show because making the set will take time and it’s a long process. Without a set, there really is no show so hard work and paying attention to detail is very important, and with the help of the cast and crew this will be able to happen.
With the help of the stage crew, the play will come together because they are such a big part of the show. They assist with helping to move the set, and helping the cast bring props back and forth.
Once the tickets are available to buy you will be able to buy the tickets from Ms. Brunelle in her classroom 301, at all three lunches, online, and will be able to buy the tickets at the front of the house on the nights the play is happening.
