On April 16th, 2013 the 116th Boston Marathon was held, a race held on Patriots Day the third Monday in April to memorialize the battles of early America. About 27,000 runners started the difficult run through Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline, to make it to the finish line in Boston. This run had a special marker at the end of the 26th mile to honor the tragic loss of the 26 people passing in the Newtown, CT school shooting, not knowing they would be a part of another tragic US event. After running 26 miles the runners thinking they were coming to the end of accomplishing a great race were in for a terrible shock. On April 16th, 2013 2:50 pm in Boston, MA two twin bombs were ignited at the end of the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Instantly killing 3 people and injuring about 100 in a matter of seconds, worst bombing to hit US soil since 9/11. This event was unexpected by everyone in the US especially by the runners and people present. At the beginning the authorities having no immediate suspects or motive really had to get to work to figure who had committed such a heinous crime. After a few hour they came up with 2 suspects Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his 19-year-old brother Dzhokhar. Both born in the Russian area then moved to the US at a young age. Dzhokhar the younger brother became a naturalized citizen of the US in 2012 and attended UMASS Dartmouth. The older brother, Tamerlan, here in the US on a green card studied engineering at Bunker Hill Community College just outside of Boston. After committing such a crime both were reported that they went back to their regular life, until suspicion started to raise the older brother, Tamerlan, was killed after their photos were released and killed a campus guard. Though both suspects found one dead and one critically injured, there are still many questions to be answered. The younger brother is being held in a hospital is extremely hurt and cannot talk but is still being questioned and writing down answers for authorities. Hopefully we will start getting answers and motives soon to get to the bottom of the tragic Boston Marathon Bombing.
