Holyoke Seniors Enjoy Breakfast and Special Guest Speaker
This year’s senior breakfast event included a special guest speaker: Nick Tokman from The Deadliest Catch!
This past Friday Holyoke High’s seniors spent an hour after their senior breakfast listening to The Deadliest Catch’s Nick Tokman’s inspiring life story.
After deciding he wanted to become a crab fisherman, Tokman moved to Alaska where he walked the docks in search of work until eventually he found himself on The Deadliest Catch. He announced on Friday that after four years he will be leaving the show to continue his true passion- speaking to people.
Tokman said he enjoys speaking to high school students because he feels like he’s making a difference in their lives. His goal is to help someone be what they want to be- a lawyer, a doctor, etc.
His main message comes from the book The Alchemist and is “When a person wants something the whole universe conspires to help that one person.”
Nick Tokman left the seniors feeling motivated to be what they want to be and accomplished his goal of making a difference.
