Sophomores Learn More About Local Colleges
A college fair was held this week, giving sophomores the opportunity to meet with college representatives and discuss their plans for after high school.
As high school continues to fly by, the future awaits. Earlier this week the sophomores of Holyoke High were given the opportunity to learn about local colleges and talk to representatives from each school that visited.
Colleges such as Umass Amherst, Eastern Connecticut, Westfield state, AIC, Western New England and many other great schools sent admissions representatives to visit and got students excited for their future.
“I thought the college fair was great,” says Ian Beauregard’19. “I was happy to gain information about a possible school choice for my future.”
There were many college’s tables that students visited and were encouraged to take booklets of information about each campus. Students talked to local college workers about what fields interested them and what they think they may want to do. With the information shared, they were able to see which college suited them best.
Another factor of excitement were the free pens with each college name on it.
“The free pens were pretty good, but being able to learn more about my future was better,” says Helena Middleton ’19.
With a few short years left of high school, college is waiting for the sophomore class to fulfill our dreams and accomplish our goals.
