Spotlight On: Mr. Feinberg
Holyoke High School has always been blessed to have the most dedicated and the most loved teachers, but there is one amazing teacher who has been well-known throughout his many years of teaching, and his name is Mr. Feinberg.
“Mr. Feinberg is arguably the “gray beard” of the Math Department at Holyoke High School.” says fellow math teacher, Mr. Ukandu.
Mr. Feinberg was born and raised in Holyoke. He attended Longmeadow High School, where he graduated. Before commencing his teaching career at Holyoke High, he attended three colleges: Springfield Technical Community College, Western New England College, and the State University of New York.
Mr. Feinberg started teaching at Holyoke High School 31 years ago in 1987. This year, Mr. Feinberg is teaching Advanced Placement Calculus, Pre-Calculus, and his famous Financial Literacy course. In his free time, he likes to ride his motorcycle.
Senior, Julleyka Curet, who has Feinberg this year as her Financial Literacy teacher says, “He is always very truthful with the students. He is clear about wanting his students to absorb the knowledge that he’s been given over time, so that we can have a successful financial future.”
Mr. Feinberg is a teacher of students as well as other teachers.
“Mr. Feinberg is a teaching mentor just by going about his day. He inspires and shares his knowledge without even thinking about it. He has made me a better teacher,” says fellow math teacher, Ms. Newell.
