Welcome to the Holyoke High Herald College Corner! Each week college visits, application deadlines, meeting times, and all things college related  information will be posted to help make the application process a little less stressful. In addition to visits and application information, scholarships will be posted and students will be able to apply if they are eligible. Stay tuned and make sure to check when your favorite college could be coming to the high school!

Senior year for students can be very stressful, but we are here to help! If you have not done so already then the time to fill out the FAFSA form and the Common Application form is now. Make sure to ask teachers for a letter of recommendation and try to give them enough time before the application is due. To make it easier on your teacher and to make sure all of your activities are included in the letter create a brag sheet explaining everything you are involved in inside and outside of school. For the best results, you want to ask teachers that you feel close with and you know will be a reliable source for colleges to understand how you are as a student.  Another important factor to the college application process is taking the SAT. If you have not taken the SAT and you are planning on attending a four year school make sure to talk with your guidance counselor right away.  These are just a few major aspects of the college application so if you have any questions or concerns stop by guidance and see what you can do to plan your future!

UPCOMING COLLEGE VISITS: University of Maine Farmington (Thursday Nov 8th @8:30 AM) If you are interested in going to the meeting make sure to inform your guidance counselor.
