Holyoke and Chicopee have returned certain students to a hybrid model of learning as of Monday, February 22, 2021. Chicopee Public Schools returned students to in-person classes for those in grades kindergarten through 3, Chicopee Academy, and any high-needs students for Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Officials have said that all students will be fully remote on Wednesdays, and the students that have selected full-year online learning will continue with that option.

Holyoke Public Schools also announced that students in kindergarten and Pre-K have been selected to begin hybrid learning as of February, 22. Upon the return of these students, schools will begin preparing in the return of more students.

Due to Holyoke and Chicopee recently seeing fewer COVID-19 infections and have also brought their cities down from a red zone to a yellow zone, they also began to not only open up certain schools but have also begun opening up restaurants, gyms, barbershops, salons, etc.
