Quarantine Meals

While the pandemic has wrecked quite a bit of havoc and craziness for everyone, many have been able to find ways to adjust to this new way of life. People have found new ways to express themselves and to cure their boredom without fear of spreading the virus. Some take on gardening in their backyards, making clothes, finding entertainment with new shows or movies, and many other things that can be done at home. For me, I have found that cooking meals at home are an amazing way to spend my downtime at home, and it is also a great way to be able to find new recipes and foods that my family and I might love. I want to share this with others as well.

Around mid to late January I found myself endlessly scrolling through my phone looking at these amazing foods that I’ve wanted to try. But of course, there’s no way for me to be able to travel and go out and get these foods so I took it upon myself to find these recipes and go ahead and make it at home. I found that making food at home is cheaper compared to constantly going out to eat or ordering fast food. Buying your ingredients and making your own food can be pretty fun too. You are able to have full freedom to change and mix up recipes to your liking and maybe even create something new than you may love.

There is one cook that I highly recommend everyone take a recipe or two from, and that would be Mariyumskitchen! I found her Creamy Shrimp Cajun pasta recipe on TikTok and I just had to try it so I went ahead and made it about six times and it’s truly amazing, my family couldn’t get enough of it.

Instructions:

You want to begin to salute one small minced onion and about six minced garlic cloves in a pan with olive oil for about four minutes. Go ahead and add four tablespoons of unsalted butter and let that melt, then two cups of heavy cream and four ounces of cream cheese. Once the cream cheese has been melted, put in a cup of parmesan cheese, some parsley, and all of the seasonings listed below. You may add any more seasoning for your taste. Let it come to a simmer then add in your cooked pasta and shrimp. Finish it off by adding you 1/4th cup of pasta water plate and then you are done. Enjoy!
