Fifteen athletes from Holyoke High School made the list for All Western Massachusetts selections in fall sports this season. Six of the fifteen made the First team, nine of them made the Second team, and one made the Honorable mention list. Seven on the list are seniors, five are juniors, two are sophomores and two are freshmen. Here is the list from Masslive.com, with all of the athletes hyperlinks, where you can click on their name to see each athlete’s statistics and how they contributed to their team this season. First team selection, Jacqueline Jourdain stated when asked how her senior volleyball season went, Our season started really strong, we went on some winning streaks and it was really exciting. Occasionally there were times where we didn’t exactly push through a difficult moment and get our head back in the game, but we had some younger players on our team, some only having played a year or less, so I think it just comes with time. Overall, I think we worked quite well together and I really miss the team and playing! It’ll most likely remain as my favorite high school experience. However, we wouldn’t be what we became without coach Conway. There’s a really good reason her name is on the court! Also thanks to coach Ardazan Dennis, he helped make the team what it was and will always be remembered when we all look back on our high school volleyball memories!

Here is a recap of all the First Team Selections statistics:

    • Alysha Izquierdo and Jacqueline Jourdain contributed to a great season for the Ladies Knights Volleyball team, earning First Team Selections. Their overall record was 11-8. Jacqueline Jourdain had 148 kills, 37 blocks, 10 digs and 47 aces. Alysha Izquierdo had 157 kills, 3 blocks, 143 digs, 3 assists and 31 aces.
    •  On the Knights field hockey team, the record this season was 7-8-2. First team selection, Samantha Brennan had 9 goals and 5 assists. Her season high was a 4 goal game over Amherst.
    • The Knights Football team ended with a 5-6 record.
