Last night, March 8th the Boys Varsity Basketball team hosted the Dracut Middies to play their 2nd game in the MIAA round of 16. Even with tickets having to be purchased online there was a pretty good turnout of fans from both teams to support the athletes. These athletes definitely made the game worth watching. The game was full of a lot of intense moments that were pivotal to the game.

By the end of the 1st quarter, the score was only 15-10 with the Knights holding on to the lead. The score kept getting closer and closer as the game progressed. By halftime, the score was 25-26 with Dracut taking the 1 point lead over the Knights. Even though all the back and forth at the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was 44-46 Dracut still took the lead. By the end of the 4th quarter athletes, coaches and fans alike were on the end of their seats. With less than 20 seconds left on the clock Senior Knight Jael Cabera took the ball down the court to break the tie and help the Knights take home another win changing the score from 62-62 to 64-62. After Cabrera scored there were only 2 seconds left on the clock and at that point, everybody knew the Knights were Elite 8 bound.

When the sound of the buzzer rang through the gym marking the end of the game fans rushed the court to celebrate with the athletes. Now that the Knights have won again they will be traveling to Burlington to play their third game in the series. Burlington, Massachusetts is about an hour and a half to two hours away from Holyoke depending on the route you take. Be sure to wish your Knights good luck as they continue to advance in the championship.
