HHS Band Hits The Cape
Our own HHS band will show some purple pride during the tenth annual Cape Cod St. Patrick’s Day parade.
This year, like every year, Holyoke High School’s band has been working hard to practice and perfect their performance.
On Saturday, March 7th the band will be performing at the Cape Cod St. Patrick’s Day parade. Cape Cod’s parade is in its tenth year, and it stretches from South Yarmouth through Route 28 and ends in Hyannis.
The band will leave the school with band teacher Mrs. Cavanagh for 7:30am on Saturday morning to arrive when the parade begins at 11am. They will be playing 4-5 different songs during this event. There are about 85 students performing in it with all their equipment, and many Holyokers make the trip to watch the HHS band perform
When the parade ends, the Holyoke High band goes to the Cape Cod Mall to eat there and socialize for a little while. Then they visit a beach and even go swimming/polar plunging together. The band will return to Holyoke around 5 pm that afternoon.
Lots of students from band enjoy the trips. “It is really fun, we go to a lot of places and the kids really enjoy it,” said Mrs. Cavanagh.
If you have some free time this Saturday, take a road trip to support the HHS band!
