Alexander Glanville, Humble Staff Reporter ’16
Alex Glanville is a senior at Holyoke High. This will be his second year on the Herald, and he is considered by many to be the role model of the class. “Some have called me the world’s best staff reporter,” says Glanville. Along with being on the Herald, Alex is also the captain of the golf team, member of the Melva Committee, active member of the STEM Club, third place winner at the prom dance competition, Blessed Sacrament Christian Sportsmanship Award winner, member of reigning floor hockey championship team, 27th place winner at the 2012 St. Mary’s spelling bee, and contestant on Disney World’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire Play It. “It’s knowing you made a difference in someone’s life, that’s what keeps me going,” said Alex when discussing his role in the Herald. “Alex is my favorite student,” said Lori Vaillancourt when explaining her relationship the young prodigy. Glanville’s work ethic is flawless and with the stroke of a pen he can leave the whole class in awe. However, he can slack on occasions, as he has been known to say, “I don’t want to work, I just want to bang on this mug all day,” while in Herald headquarters. Herald supervisor Joe Courchesne has been known to refer to young Glanville as his co-pilot, putting aside their differences on who is better, Tupac or Biggie. Courchesne says, “with those stats I don’t know how anybody could consider him not to be a future Hall of Famer. His post-season performances are through the roof, and he always comes up clutch when the team needs him.” Glanville plans to make his friends, family, and several pen pals proud this year on the Herald and has this to say: “The 2015-2016 school year will be one for the record books.”
