Varsity Field Hockey to Take on Agawam in First Round Playoffs
The varsity field hockey team will go up against the Agawam field hockey team in the first round of playoffs on Thursday, November, 3rd.
Thursday, November 3rd, is the first round of playoffs for the Varsity Field Hockey team. The game starts at 6 o’clock at the Agawam High School turf field. The team, who won their division undefeated this year, is in the #6 spot, and are set to play Agawam, the #3 spot, in order to move onto the next round.
“I am so excited to play Agawam again,” said junior captain, Katie Keane. “They have some very talented players, but I think they’ll be surprised at how much we have improved over the course of the season.”
And Katie is not wrong. The team, in the past few games, has done exceedingly well against major league opponents, such as Turners Falls and Pioneer Valley. Keane proceeded to say how their passing game has become much better.
“They beat us last time, but I feel that we really have a shot with them this time,” said junior captain, Kassidy Lawrence.
Lawrence later went on to say how the last time the rivals faced off, Holyoke was down a few players due to illness and injury.
