“Socksgiving” Comes to Holyoke High

“Socksgiving,” a fundraiser to provide the homeless with new socks, has been implemented at Holyoke High by Student Athlete Ambassadors.

The Holyoke High School Student Athlete Ambassadors are running a fundraiser, commonly known as “Socksgiving.” They are looking for people to donate new socks for the homeless.

Socks are the most needed, but least donated article of clothing for the homeless. So, in spirit of the giving season and upcoming colder weather, the Student Athlete Ambassadors are looking for sock donations.

“I think it is a really good fundraiser,” Says Nolan Keane ‘18 “It is really nice to give people in need something that we often take for granted.”

All donations can be placed in the cardboard box located outside of Holyoke High’s main office, as well the box outside of the third floor office.

The Student Ambassadors hope to receive many donations, since they were challenged by other schools in the area to see which school can get the most donations. Also, more donations means more happy, homeless feet!
