Gary Rome to Hold Free Car Giveaway for Seniors

Gary Rome Hyundai of Holyoke will be giving away a free car and free year of gas to one lucky HHS senior.

Gary Rome Hyundai on Whiting Farms Road in Holyoke will be giving one Holyoke High School senior a free car and a free year of gas! At the end of the 2017-18 school year, Gary Rome Hyundai will be giving this car to one senior who will need to meet certain criteria and standards that are still being determined.

The Herald spoke with HHS Interim Principal, Mr. Dana Brown, to get his opinion on what Gary Rome is doing to give back to the community. “If it can motivate students to do better, I think it’s a great thing,” said Principal Brown.

With a possible car at the end of their high school career, this will hopefully push seniors to do their best, not only academically, but also in and beyond our community.

One reason for creating this give away is to provide seniors with an incentive to get through senior year while struggling through “senioritis.” One senior believes that the car could help her after time is up at Holyoke High School.

“Getting this car would help financially with college,” said Kylie Desmarais ’18.

The hope is that the senior who will get this car is responsible and will gain opportunities they would not otherwise get. Hopefully, this car will drive one lucky senior to strive for greatness and achieve all of their goals in life!
