Following all of the buzz about the new iPhone update, iOS7, Apple is keeping themselves in the news with the release of the newest edition of the iPhone. This innovative piece of machinery, known as the iPhone 5s, is equipped with an array of new features, making it the most technologically advanced phone on the market.

Firstly, the most talked about feature on the iPhone 5s is the touch ID fingerprint scanner, which literally allows you (and only you) to unlock your phone with a quick touch of your thumb. This replaces the passcode method of entering into your phone and does not allow anybody else into your phone. In addition to this, the iSight camera has larger pixels than those on the iPhone 5. This advancement lessens the issue of poor lighting in those “picture perfect” moments. Ashley Morsen ’15 is most excited for this new camera feature, “I loved the new camera, and I know I’m going to feel like a real photographer with it”. Another publicized asset to the newest iPhone is that it is also available in gold as well as the original white and black models. Although, other than these major editions that are included with the iPhone 5s, most other aspects are similar to those on the iPhone 5, which was released about a year ago. This pertains to the physical dimensions of the phone as well as the software. Because Apple released the iOS7 update, the software on both phones is virtually the same.
Apple also released the iPhone 5c, which put simply is the iPhone 5, with a built-on case. This phone, released at the same time as the iPhone 5s, was made with the intention to replace the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5s was released on September 20th but within the first 24 hours it was sold out and will now be available again in October. The iPhone 5s starts at $199, while the iPhone 5c is being sold for $99. With all the advancements of the iPhone 5s, we can only imagine that the iPhone 6 will be revolutionary.
