On Monday, October 2Holyoke High’s field hockey team will be facing off against Westfield for their annual “Play for the Cure” game. The Knights and the Bombers will be going head to head at 4:00 PM at the Roberts Field Complex and all proceeds will be going directly to cancer research. Donations will be accepted as well.

This year’s game is dedicated to Heather McMahon, a former HHS Field Hockey player who passed away from glioblastoma earlier this year. Many of McMahon’s friends and family will be attending the game in her memory, and to support the fight against cancer.

“She was a former player of mine,” said current field hockey coach, Maryann Pelligrinelli. “As soon as we heard that she had passed away, we decided to dedicate the game to her.”

The team will be wearing t-shirts with Heather’s number as warm-up shirts, and are taking orders until Wednesday, 10/4. If you would like to buy a shirt you can do so by contacting Dora Courchesne at doracourchesne@gmail.com
Come support the field hockey team and the fight against cancer!
