This year, Holyoke high school has introduced a brand new club and an exciting opportunity for students who are passionate about sports – the sports management club. This club is designed to get students involved in the sports industry while also allowing them to explore their personal interests as well as their career goals.
The sports management club gives members the chance to gain real world experience and build their professional network within the world of athletics. Students have already begun events such as the 3 on 3 basketball tournament on November 25th and various school spirit events during athletic games. These activities not only boost school pride and spirit, but also give students valuable hands-on experience in organizing and promoting sports events.
The club meets every Thursday from 2:30 to 3:15 in room 214, and everyone is welcome to join. During each meeting, students can take on different roles on teams such as marketing, social media, operations, and sponsorships. This team based structure allows members to develop practical skills that translate to real careers in sports management.
Students who have joined so far say that they enjoy the experience, have made new friends, and appreciate how the club helps them explore their interests in a fun and meaningful way.
Looking ahead, the club hopes to expand into an official class at Holyoke High School, offering even more opportunities for learning and growth. Even if this doesn’t happen right away, members plan to keep growing the club, adding more members, and making future events bigger and better.
