Minion Mayhem: Field Hockey Fundraiser

The Holyoke High Field Hockey team has again thought up a unique and fun fundraiser: this time involving the popular characters The Minions.

Starting Friday, September 16, the HHS Field Hockey team has returned with their annual fundraiser. This year, the team is surprising households with minions dressed in purple, as opposed to last year’s ghosts.

“We hope to surpass our funds raised last year, to buy new apparel, and create a scholarship for seniors,” said varsity field hockey captain Katie Keane ’18.

For $25, you can send three minions to a friend or loved one’s house. The minions are dropped off and picked up entirely by the field hockey team, and stay with your friend or loved one for one night. This is the third year the field hockey team is doing this fundraiser. In 2014, the team “flocked” with purple flamingos, and last year the team “haunted” with ghosts.

“Working together to do it gives us a sense of team even off the field,” said varsity field hockey captain Sarah Healy ’17, “plus they’re so cute!”

Anyone interested in taking part in the fundraiser can contact Mrs. Rebecca Birks at (413) 335-5538, or go to the Facebook page Holyoke High Field Hockey’s Minion Mayhem. Please support our Field Hockey team!
