Girls Basketball Season Wrap Up
The Girls Varsity Basketball’s phenomenal season has come to an end.
The Girls Varsity Basketball season this school year was very successful! We are very proud of all of our student athletes this 2016/2017 season. The girls worked very hard to dominate their competition each and every game.
The girls finished their season with a record of 13-8 and a conference of 3-5. This record was able to get them to playoffs against Northampton High School, but unfortunately suffered a loss with a score of 53-43. Aside from the tough end to the season, the team, students, coaches, and other supporters couldn’t be more proud of how this group of Knights did.
“We had a great season! I’m very proud of myself and my teammates,” says Amber Lempke ‘17. “We have an amazing coaching staff as well as great student and parent supporters who would come to watch our games. I hope the team can improve even more next year.”
Top scorer, Callie Cavanaugh, contributed to the team’s great season by bringing her already lofty point count to 1753! She will be attending and playing for Florida International University in the fall.
Tom Brassil, the girls varsity basketball coach of 25 years, is also very proud with his players’ successes. “The girls basketball team did a phenomenal job this year. They had an outstanding record as well.”
Be sure to watch the girls basketball team next year in hopes of an even more successful season!
