 The NBA Returns

There is a lot of anticipation on this upcoming 2014-2015 NBA season after the beating LeBron James and the Miami Heat took in the hands of Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs on the biggest stage in basketball: The NBA Finals. After a disappointing end to the season, many questioned whether LeBron James would re-sign with the Miami Heat or return to his hometown of Cleveland and play with the Cleveland Cavilers. Also, Lakers superstar guard Kobe Bryant is making his return to the hardwood after suffering a fractured knee, and many question if Kobe Bryant can still play at a high level with the Lakers organization in rebuilding mode. Another superstar making their return is 2011 MVP and Chicago star guard Derrick Rose after tearing his meniscus in his right knee making him miss the rest of last season.

LeBron Comes Home

“I’m Coming Home.” That is what four time MVP LeBron James told all sources that he was returning to Cleveland to play for his hometown this past summer on July 12th, 2014. His run with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat had come to an end. LeBron had lead the Heat to four straight NBA finals appearances and brought two championships to South Beach. The Cleveland Cavilers made sure that this off-season they put some very important pieces around the two-time champion, teaming James up with 2012 number draft pick Kyrie Irving and the newest Caviler Kevin Love. Love was a part of the three team trade that sent Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins to the Minnesota Timberwolves. LeBron told reporters that playing for the Miami Heat for these past four years felt like college, it helped him grow as a person and player. He told sources in an interview for Sports Illustrated, “Before anyone ever cared where I would play basketball, I was a kid from Northeast Ohio. It’s where I walked. It’s where I ran. It’s where I cried. It’s where I bled. It holds a special place in my heart. People there have seen me grow up. I sometimes feel like I’m their son. Their passion can be overwhelming. But it drives me. I want to give them hope when I can. I want to inspire them when I can. My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now.” LeBron James understands how difficult it is to win a championship, and with all the moves Cleveland has made they’re the favorite to win it all this season.

#BrokenNotBeaten

After suffering a horrific Achilles injury in the spring of 2013, Kobe Bryant was set and ready to play the 2013-14 season, but played only six games before fracturing his knee. The five-time champion was once again hurt and although was at first expected to miss only six weeks, the injury turned out to be worse than the doctors thought and Kobe missed the rest of the 2013-14 season. “All I can do is do the work. And do everything I can to be back at the highest level,” Bryant told ESPN. He also tweeted “#BrokenNotBeaten” to reassure his fans that he would be back. “I have 100 percent confidence that he’ll be healthy because of the way he handles his body and the style of play that we’ll compete at. We can’t play at a frenetic pace. We can push the ball when it’s there, and we can certainly let Kobe create out of the post with his back to the basket at this stage of his career…” said by the Lakers athletic trainer Gary Vitti. As the NBA season comes upon us Bryant is actually playing at a high level he told ESPN sources that he feels 110% and is ready for this season.
